Mariah Carey’s new album, ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse’ has begun its Australian Chart campaign, debuting strongly at No. 5 on the ARIA Album Chart.
This is quite impressive, especially considering limited stock and low stock cost Mariah a higher position. Specifically, over 85% of JB Hi-Fi stores Australia-wide had sold out of the physical album within two days of release. Fortunately shipments have since increased.
With this top 5 debut, ‘The Elusive Chanteuse’ has already out-peaked Mariah’s previous releases; including ‘Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel’ and the smash hit, ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’.
Elsewhere, her 2013 hit, ‘#Beautiful’ (featuring Miguel) has re-entered the Urban Singles Chart at No. 24 and continues to creep closer to double platinum status.
