Mariah Carey’s modern holiday standard, ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ has bulleted another 10 places on the ARIA Singles Chart to No. 40 this week. The single was also certified as Double Platinum this week, denoting 140,000 physical and digital sales. It must be noted, though, that digital sales before 2012 were not officially tallied by ARIA, therefore Mariah’s total sales are actually much higher.
Mariah’s classic album, ‘Merry Christmas’ has also slipped two spots on the Album Chart to No. 30, not necessarily due to less interest, but rather that retailers Australia-wide have been selling out of the album.
‘Merry Christmas’ also remained at No. 4 on the ARIA Catalogue Chart and climbed nine places on the Digital Albums Chart to No. 11. The album is steadily approaching certification for six times Platinum.
