Music Box from Mariah Carey held the No.1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and spent a total of eighteen non-consecutive weeks at the top of the charts from March to September 1994. The chart topping album spawned four top 20 singles ‘Dream Lover’ (No.7 – Sept.‘93), ‘Hero’ (No.7 – Jan.’94), ‘Without You’ (No.3 – Mar.’94) and ‘Anytime you need a Friend’ (No.12 – Jul.’94). Music Box was No.1 on the 1994 ARIA End of Year Album Charts and has been accredited 12 x Platinum.
Carey’s follow-up album, Merry Christmas, also reached the ARIA top ten, peaking at No.2 in December 1994 and went on to be certified 5 × Platinum.
