Mariah Carey promoted Glitter’s 25th anniversary with new merchandise in a September 30 series of social media posts. The promotion attracted international coverage the following day, with particular attention paid to the singer’s gorgeous jewelry.
According to Page Six Style, republished by AOL, the Leviev necklace costs $1.55 million, a price supplied by the jeweler. It contains 44.71 carats of diamonds set in 18-karat white gold; the central pendant weighs 14 carats. Our Diva likes being a Diva! <3
The promotion is part of the 25 years celebration of Glitter that also includes music releases. Universal Music Canada announced an expanded digital edition for October 30, featuring 15 additional tracks, including rare and previously unreleased recordings, through Def Jam/UMe.
The project also marks Glitter’s return to vinyl for the first time since its original release. A new version of “Didn’t Mean to Turn You On,” featuring Rochelle Jordan, launched the campaign in August.
When checked on October 2, the official store listed the Glittering Pink double vinyl at $59.99, marked sold out. The Midnight Purple edition was listed at $37.98, and the CD at $12.98.
