Mariah Carey reminded everyone why she’s the Queen at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival, delivering a career-spanning performance that had fans losing their minds. And honestly? She looked absolutely stunning doing it.
The whole thing kicked off with this gorgeous visual montage showing all of Mariah’s eras on the big screen – like a trip through her entire career. Each era got its moment, building up to her upcoming album Here For It All (dropping September 26, in case you somehow missed it – you didn’t, right???).
Then she walked out looking absolutely radiant with her natural curls – we love when Mariah goes full Curlyriah mode – continuing the trend she started in Brazil! She kicked things off with “Fantasy” and you could tell the crowd was already going wild. From there, she went through “Heartbreaker,” “My All,” “Touch My Body,” “Type Dangerous,” “Obsessed,” “Always Be My Baby,” “Sugar Sweet,” “It’s Like That” and closed with “We Belong Together.”
Here’s the thing that really got me – during “Always Be My Baby,” someone handed her a vinyl to sign and she actually stopped to sign it while still singing. You know Mariah doesn’t usually multitask on stage, but her loyalty to her fans is everything. She’ll always make that effort for the Lambily, even mid-performance!
The best part? You could tell Mariah was having the time of her life up there. She was interacting with the audience, and just generally being her fabulous self. When an artist is genuinely enjoying themselves on stage, it makes the whole performance that much better.
She looked incredible, sounded amazing, and reminded everyone why she’s been at the top for three decades. With Here For It All dropping in a week, this performance was the perfect reminder of what we’re getting – classic Mariah with that fresh energy.
Mariah really said “let me show you how it’s done” at iHeartRadio. If this performance is any indication of what to expect from Era of Mi, we’re in for something special. September 26 can’t come fast enough!
