Official Chart Company writes: Chart legend Mariah Carey scores this week’s second highest new entry on the Official Albums Chart. The US singer’s 14th studio album, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, enters at Number 14 today.
“Me. I Am Mariah” becomes Mariah’s highest entry since 2009’s “The Ballads” which peaked at No.13.

Music Week writes: Missing out on becoming her 13th Top 10 album, Me – I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse is Mariah Carey’s 17th Top 75 entry. Debuting at number 14 (6,547 sales), it easily surpasses the number 23 debut/peak of her last regular studio effort, 2009’s Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel – but that album was released just before Christmas and consequently enjoyed a much bigger first week sale of 26,552. Me – I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse includes the sleeper hit #Beautiful, a collaboration with Miguel which entered the chart over a year ago at number 39, and didn’t suffer a decline until its ninth week in the chart, having inched its way to number 22. Its endurance helped it to secure more sales than some of her Top 10 hits – 175,522 of them to midnight on Saturday. The subject of largely favourable reviews, I Am Mariah… includes collaborations with rappers Nas, Wale and Fabolous and a cover of George Michael’s One More Try. Some editions of the album also include collaborations with Mary J. Blige, R. Kelly and a duo called Roc & Roe aka Dembabies – her three year old twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
